Cheat Sheet for New Tech Use Case Questions
New Tech Use Case Questions assess your capacity to come up with innovative use cases for a new technology that has been developed or is planned to be developed.
1. Ask clarification questions | Get a clear understanding of how the technology works and what it does. Ask questions about its limitations and use cases. |
2. Describe the significance of the unique attributes of the new technology | Discuss the new behaviors or user actions that can be created or enhanced using this new technology. Identify the benefits and limitations of the technology and how it can be used to solve problems. |
3. Brainstorm some ideas | Think about the type of use cases that can be enabled by this new technology. Find a use case that has a problem that the technology solves and imagine whether the existing product will get much better in some way once you incorporate the new technology into it. |
4. Select one use case | Choose the most intriguing (or easiest to design) use case and explain why you chose it. Follow the standard product design interview guide to answer the question if asked to design the product. |
Tip:
Remember to always clarify the technology's specifications, identify the benefits and limitations, and brainstorm some use cases before selecting one to focus on.
