Clarifying questions:

1.       Do you want me to talk about specific app (eg: pick one app that I would delete) – yes specific app?

Some of the General reasons why someone would delete an app:

1.       Difficult to use

2.       No longer needed

3.       Usage has reduced in the recent time

4.       Similar app or substitute available (from different eco-system)

5.       Pricing has changed

6.       Impacting the device (eg: battery life)

7.       Regulatory change (eg: govt banning an app)

8.       Bad publicity in social media

9.       Friends recommend against it/deleting it

10.   Social pressures (trolling, break up)

In my case, I have been searching for app that tracks my mileage of business trip automatically so I can use for expense reimbursement.  I tried few apps and settled into using one app from Microsoft (even though more expensive).  The other apps I kept and plan to delete soon.

Reasons for not selecting other apps:

1.       Difficult to use

2.       Microsoft (trusted brand) as this is sensitive personal data

How would you improve it?

1.       Focus on making the app easy to use, intuitive to increase the engagement

2.       Increase the trust by promoting its data privacy and protection features

3.       Share success stories of small business owners that saved $$ using the app

4.       Price according to the savings provided

Hi Bharath,

You nailed it by mapping the potential reasons to delete an app.

In the 2nd part of your answer, I recommend addressing it as a product sense question at a high level and first deciding on an area of improvement (acquisition, engagement, monetization, retention, etc.) based on the stage of the product. And then provide a few ideas.

Otherwise, if you will be asked to prioritize your ideas, it might be challenging to compare apples to apples.
