How would you improve OYO?

OYO is a platform which provides accommodation services in hotels.

Clarification Question: -

1.    What is the goal behind improvement?

Let’s say acquisition.

User types: -

1.host (room provider)

2.guest

Let’s focus on guest and in guest also I would like to go more deeper  let’s say travellers. They may be tourists, they may be working professionals.

Pain points: -

1.Don’t know which hotel is suitable according to their affordability. (Pricing issue)

2. Overwhelmed with the choices.

3.Bad experience.

4.No hotel in that area.

5.there is no arrangement of food.

Solution: -

1.Recommend hotels based on their previous history of booking according to price and services provided by that hotel using AI/ML techniques. Here overall focus is on giving more personal recommendation. It will give the solution for both the pain points 1 and 2.

2.Blacklist any hotels which have poor rating for hotel or customer services and in case if customer face any bad experience he should get half money return.

3.Partener with house owners to provide accommodation which will help both house owners and traveller.

4.partenership with the platform like Zomato, swiggy or a restaurant nearby for providing best quality food.

Prioritization: - I would like to focus on no. 3,4 ,1.

Success metric: -

1.# of house owner who have partnership with the platform.

2.# of room booked through house owner.

3.# of booking made directly without using any filter.

4.# of food orders.

5.Increase in NPS.
