My first app was a news apps that was launched in 2014. This was first time the client that I worked for launched a mobile app for their asset. The technical challenges faced and resolution is provided below:
| Challenges faced | Resolution |
| Integrating video player SDK with the native app | Integration was done by creating a common build containing libraries of the native app and the video player SDK. From that point, distinct components were created for a) UI, Media controller, Media session and Player. Methods were called between these components for video playback purposes |
| Packaging content for distribution | Services were created for transcoding and maintaining the data over a storage and then made available over a CDN |
| Ad monetization | This was done through client side ad provisioning |
| Multiplatform availability | Lot of cross platform testing was conducted to measure the consistency of experience across various platforms |
