If I'm giving a TED talk, I will talk about effective communication.
As a product manager or anyone who is working in a group/collaborative setup, it is important that you are communicating the right set of information to the receiving party. Be it customer, customer facing teams, engineers, data science teams, the way you convey your message is always important.
I work with junior resources, interns on the product team and always observe that people are often unclear about the message they want to communicate, this often leads to unproductive meetings, confusion and project delays.
In the past few months, I have started to encourage others to offer clear agenda for their meetings, state the requirements clearly and be able to explain what's on their mind using 1-2 sentences rather than a monologue. I have been encouraging my peers to deep dive into the problem and ask right set of questions to unblock themselves while solving complex problems.
I do enjoy resolving issues with effective communication, hence I feel this will be the perfect topic for a TED talk!

If I ever gave a ted talk, the topic will be how to make an effective presentation.
Situation- While I was a program manager for a large legal information solutions provider, I had a talented development team who could excel beyond expectations but would often get the short end of stick due to their in-ability to communicate a message. Their status reports would be miscontrued, their suggestions would be considered as objections and they were not considered to be good team players
Tasks- Improve productivity and morale of the team by having them work on their presentation and messaging skills
Action- I conducted a workshop for an hour every day for 2 weeks during lunch time. I got funding to sponsor lunch on house. I walked the team through the key aspects of communication viz, the target, message, medium, timing etc. We also had breakout sessions for the team to practice communication and work on their skills
Results- There was an overwhelming response to the workshop. The participants used to stand in the corriders to listen to the speaker and practice. At the end of two weeks, as the team worked on their skills, I saw an improvement as measured in the overall productivity, reduction in conflict and improvement in employee satisfaction score.
