Lets assume we pick up media, the technology trend under purview will be blockchain

Step 2: Significance of technology

Block chain is a immutable ledger. Media industry deals with lot of media transactions  between the media producer, the distribution platform and the consumer. To collect royalties, the content needs to be rights managed and also tracked for consumption. Current applications doing this are in-house to companies and follow an opaque process. That is where blockchain comes into picture

Step 3: Brainstorm ideas and select a use case

Blockchain will be used in the following use case

1) Media broadcasting by content distributors and associated royalty payment

2) Avoid misuse of content sharing between end users by rights management through blockchain

3) Maintain content ownership over time and across platforms for end user

4) Monetization of user generated data

User generated shows are always tagged to a single platform e.g. tiktok, Facebook watch, Youtube etc. This inhibits monetization of content across platforms.

Blockchain can be used for right management of this content through a central entity and then will allow for the content ownsers to license data across multiple platforms thereby increasing monetization abilities
