I actually met with my company's CEO at the leadership offsite last month.
I asked him what was his opinion on two of high priority projects that I am participating in. And the direction that we are headed.
I shared my opinion on these projects and also a few concerns that are on my mind and whether the CEO can recommend a path. The CEO was able to provide me with a few names in the sister organization that have been through similar process in the past so that I can reach out and get knowledge share.
All in all, I enjoyed this quick interaction and I was amazed how impactful the 30-40 seconds were.

I would use the following technique
1) Grab attention by talking about them - e.g. I was listening to their talk at Harvard business school about AI in education and how impressed I was by his/her vision
2) Link your work to that vision- In fact, I am part of the Google Cloud and we are performance benchmarking ML algorithms for that project and how it makes me feel so connected to the companies broader vision
3) Ask them a qn- Where does he beleive the company will go with that vision for schools in the west coast area
4) Offer to help in a forum- Ask him/her if there was a townhall planned where people like me can voice our ideas about this initiative
