I will answer this using STAR methodology:
Situation- I was a product manager for a streaming services product to be launched in Q2 of 2020. This product was to be launched by a company who till then primarily only in the TV broadcasting space. Thus the content pipeline was not designed to support a streaming services app
Task- One of my tasks was to upgrade the legacy pipeline components. These components were designed some 15-20 years back and had no documentation. The people who designed it were all long gone
Action- I conducted lot of sessions with the development team understanding the features and interfaces of the pipeline and reverse engineering the original set of requirements. I was then able to work with the development team to create new requirements for the components and gain agreement on the overall pipeline structure
Results- The process allowed me to understand the underlying technical architecture in detail which came in handy in desiging new requirements and overall blue print and also a great working relationship with the development stakeholders
