Situation- I was assigned the task of launching a video on demand(VOD) app for a leading media corporation. Their objective was to gain monetization of not so recent content for the corporation
Task- I started off with getting more details on the companys objectives, I learnt that other than monetization of content, the company also wanted to create a user base and engagement for their brand so that they can extend it to larger streaming services product in the future.
Action- After defining the objective, next step was to define near and long term goal. Near term goal was to create a user base of baby boomers since the content for relatively older and monetize it with advertisements. Long term goal with extend the brand to large streaming services product.
The goals then manifested into strategic choice and strategic choices into features.
The features were evaluated based on strategic imperatives and then associated with timelines
Results- Metrics were defined to measure the progress of the product according to the timeline
