By product are we constraining ourselves to some app or are we open to both apps and physical products as well?
Yeah, we are open to both. You can decide on that.
Are we focussing on any particular type of people?
You can decide on that.
Thanks for the clarification. With the above points, I would like to approach my problem by starting to list my different user-groups. Then, I would prioritize one among them and list out the pain points/ use cases for them. Later, With the prioritized pain points/use case, I'll come up with a solution and discuss its features and the adoption cycle. Finally, will discuss some KPIs to look into to decide whether the product was successful or not.
User Groups
- Kids between the age of 0 and 7
- Kids above 7 years and below 13 years
- Teens
- Adults from 22 to late 50s
- Old (>50s)
Of the list of groups, I would like to choose the segment that falls under the Teens segment as they are more tech-savvy and need to be more health-conscious to prevent themselves from obesity and other kinds of health problems.
Pain points/ Use-cases:
- The food habits at this age will be of great factor that decides how healthier they are going to be down the line. So, the users might want to know their calorie intake and how to maintain a diet especially during the pandemic as all they tend to do is lie down with computer games, have food, and sleep.
- For teens interested in Bodybuilding, would want to maintain a schedule and help them follow it properly.
- They tend to get occupied with things like series, binge-watching, outings, that they often forget to stay hydrated enough.
Solution:
To achieve the use-case for the selected user group the best way will be to build a wearable like a watch, band, or something for teens that helps them keep a monitor on their food habits and help them stay healthier.
Product Vision: The product should help the teens stay healthier by keeping a track of their food habits.
Features:
- The band shall have a small cam that captures the food that the user is having and calculates the calorie it provides. This can be stored in the app to monitor the intake calorie levels and as well as be used to understand the user's eating habits.
- The band could also be used to calculate the calorie spent by the user through daily activities like walking, cycling.
- The stored eating habits can be used to come up with a personally-curated diet that the person can follow according to their calorie intake and spending.
- With the understanding of the users eating time, we could also remind them to go get a break for food as teens tend to get occupied with binge-watching that disturbs their eating cycle.
- All these could be connected with their FB Profile provided the user accepts. With this information, the user could be ranked among their friends on the basis of how healthy their week has been.
- Logistics:
- All that the user would need is to have a Facebook account, the device, and an app installed to monitor all their activities.
- With these things, they can easily start using them.
- Experience
- The user can wear the band and can connect it to their phone using existing wifi technology.
- The suggested diets and reminders will be received by the user through their android/iOS phones.
- Feedback Loop
- The user can share their reviews using the usual methods through the play store or through the FB page for these.
Success Metrics:
- # of devices bought
- # Accounts linked
- DAU/MAU
- NPS
