Situation- I was assigned a product manager for a streaming app. This required lot of new development on the content pipeline side. The development manager was worried about the additional quantum of work coming to him, availability of resources, timelines etc. and became adversarial to me

Task- Win over and get agreement with the development manager to achieve a common objective

Action-

1) I started working with this individual to understand the current content pipeline, the components, interfaces etc.

2) Explained the overall product blueprint and discussed what the changes to the content pipeline

3) Prioritized the changes by the feature requirements and implementation complexity

4) Aligned the product roadmap according this prioritization

Result- The development manager felt that I was understanding of his challenges, priorities etc. and worked with him towards feature prioritization. This made him my confidante and supporter
