Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program which uses slides to convey information rich in Multimedia.it is available to users as a Standalone desktop application, web and mobile application as a part of Microsoft’s Office suite. it gives user the ability to share his presentation with others in real time on the web.in this presentation user can add Custom animation, Photos, Videos and sound effects. User can save presentation as a webpage, print presentations as handouts and embed YouTube videos.  

Now, I will assess PowerPoint on the following three key points  

Useful: Solving key pain area

Efficient: Solving problem quicker with less effort from user

Innovation: making the user smarter

Useful: PowerPoint provide familiar slideshow and collaboration tool to make presentation faster. It uses online cloud storage to collaborate the work from different locations. It also facilitates the export ability to their presentation in other format such as .pdf, slides as .png/.jpg, videos as .mp4 to communicate to a large audience everywhere.   

Efficient: Making and presenting presentation using PowerPoint is easy. User can choose to create own design or use existing ones. User can present in their communication style such as images, text, audio or videos, all of them can be easily integrated in PowerPoint. User can easily ink into a slide, convert handwritten notes into text and make hand-drawn shape perfect in seconds. User can easily insert 3D objects and animation directly into PowerPoint to explain complex problem.    

Innovation: PowerPoint has come up with innovative features

·         Presenter Coach: it uses Artificial Intelligence tool to help with public speaking. It helps user to practice presentation in private with real-time suggestions to adjust the pacing and word choice, avoid “umms” and speak confidently.

·         Quick Starter: it is a great tool to jump-start the presentation with the help of research and outline creation. it recommends a set of slides for presentation topic with its subtopics based on Bing searches and information on Wikipedia.

·         Smart lookup: it uses Microsoft intelligence services feature to gather information about word or phrase for presentations without going to Web browser.it uses Bing search to do a web search on the word or phrase and display definitions and displays in smart lookup pane on the right side in PowerPoint.  

Competitor: Google slides, Apple keynotes

PowerPoint offer more useful features, better animation effects, more templates and easier to use. it is available offline and work on different platform.

Google slides has not much advanced features and it has option for limited functionality to work offline.

Keynote is only available on Apple devices.it also lacks some of the advanced features like support for additional file types. Its web version has limited functionality.
