How would you improve YouTube music?

First of all Youtube coming with youtube music as a solo app is itself a risky move as youtube has its own songs in both audio and video formats so why would someone choose youtube music for just audios when they can get both audio and video in the same app called YOUTUBE . But the move by youtube was daring and it was on par a successful one too . But the rates of usage are much lesser when compared to the competitive apps like spotify and apple music . 

So what can be done to improve it ? first find the users and come to a conlusion of what is the pain points . 

Types of users 

everyone loves music so we cant alter all but the most users are in the category of age 15-45 years 

Pain points to solve 

1. People dont install new app for music 

2. its paid to avoid ads

3. you cant play it as you close the app like spotify and apple it closes and stops playing the music 

4. duplication of songs and videos 

The above are the major pain points to solve the 3rd point is very much important and its the priority to solve . 

solutions :

1. People dont install new app for music 

Making them understand that any new song any new album first releases in youtube and from there only to other streaming apps so to be the first you got to be in youtube music is our first selling point and one more is its quality no apps can match the youtube music quality so onboarding them with these selling points is must . 

2. its paid to avoid ads 

Giving the app for free for first 6 months and making them user friendly and making them sustainbale to the app will make them to use it by paying for rest of the ages 

3. you cant play it as you close the app like spotify and apple it closes and stops playing the music 

Major problem youtube should pause it for high user rates as its major drawback people will switch to other apps as nobody opens the phone to just hear a music and not do any activity parallely so this feature is major drawback . 

4. duplication of songs 

Youtube has this freedom of anyone can upload anything so there may be duplications so this has to be controlled as people should only hear the original sounding as its one of our selling points .
