What is Uber Instant Pay?
Initially Uber paid out its drivers on a weekly basis. But now Uber has introduced a feature called Instant Pay which allows drivers to cash out their earnings instantly to their bank account or debit card. Payouts to your personal debit card or bank account are chargeable whereas Payouts to Go Uber debit card are free. As part of this feature, Uber also allows drivers apply for Uber Debit Card from Go Bank. Payout to this debit card are free of charge.
Goal of this feature : to Improve the payment experience for Uber drivers and thus retain them. This will also help increase the number of rides they complete on the platform or for the time for which they are active on the platform.
User Journey : Uber driver can add his bank account or his personal debit card on Uber or apply for a debit card from Go Bank —> get registered for Instant Pay —> complete rides with Uber —> cash out anytime —> money gets deposited to their bank account or debit card.
