Assumption -

For All Employees(Globally)

Objective - Build healthy Google, by encouraging employees to stay fit(Both mentally and physically)

User Segmentation -

  1. Employees who are already healthy and maintain a active lifestyle

  2. Employees who are healthy but don't maintain a active lifestyle

  3. Employees who have preexisting conditions and need medical help on a regular basis

I will focus on the 2nd segment since I feel this is a primary user segment and most of the employees fall in this category. It will be a attractive segment to build an application around

Needs or Pain Points

  1. Lack of time(Work and Personal life)

  2. Lack of motivation

  3. Lack of correct information or resources

  4. Covid(can't go to gym or crowded places)

  5. Covid(Help in shopping healthy grocery)

Prioritizing #1,#2,#3, since I believe these are the most important needs and addressing these will help our user segment in the long run.

Solution(Healthy Google)

  1. Social Group(Share Pictures, Eating Habits, like, comment shares etc)

    1. Share your stories, FAQ etc

  2. Dedicated time for all employees(30 mins) to workout during the day. Employee get push notification on their Desktop, Email , Chat and Phone

  3. Information Library

    1. Diet related Information

    2. Workout related information

  4. Workout in Team(Programs, Competition etc)

    1. Avg Weight Loss per team

    2. Winner and Prize

  5. Alerts based on how long someone is typing, still (ask them to move) etc

  6. Calendar (Integration), Standing meeting of the week(How much calorie lost, some data etc).

  7. Weekly Email Challenge(Goal of the week for the company etc)

  8. Analytics Tool

    1. The data can be entered manually by the user(Voice to Text) or type or automatically captured through phone if it's with the employee.

    2. Show Metrics compared to your team members(Avg.)

    3. Show metrics compared to your company, location etc)

    4. Avg weight

    5. Charts(Red, Green, Orange etc)

    6. Overall health score etc

  9. Mental Health lot of Apps available (Prefer partnering with Calm, Asana etc)

Prioritization

Google already owns fitbit, that's why I did not recommend any hardware like Fitbit since it will be an overkill. Since we are building this for our employees we want to build this in a cost effective way and launch the product faster and increase the adoption and usage for our employees. Given the above factors I would like to build an App(MVP) with below features -

  1. Information Gallery(Text, Audio and Video)

  2. Programs(Individuals, Team, Company Wide etc)

  3. Healthy Notifications and Alerts

  4. Analytics Tool

Success Metrics

  1. # of Downloads

  2. # of Signups

  3. # of Activations

  4. Avg. time spent(Session Time)

  5. Avg. Programs Enrolled

  6. Avg. # of Program Completed

  7. Avg. # of Badges Earned

  8.  Avg. # of Notifications Enabled

  9. Avg. # of Visits per day(Session Frequency)

  10. Avg. Calorie lost

  11. Avg. Weight loss

  12. Avg. Sleeping hours

  13. Avg. # of Hospital visits

2, 6, 10, 11, 12 will be my north star metrics.

Things you did well

  • Structure: Great structure of the answer. It's easy to follow and see that you are familiar with answering product design questions
  • User groups: You broken down the user group into mutiple groups and picked a particular one
  • Pain points: You listed a good number of meaningful pain points / user needs
  • Solutions: Great set of solutions to solve for the pain points listed earlier
  • Metrics of Success: Good set of metrics to measure the success of your product

Areas of Improvement

  • Solutions: I'd like to see product visions before you select one. I think there are too many visions described (8) and it's hard to build an MVP if you include more than one. Instead, I suggest you pick one of the 8 (explain why) and then describe in detail how that product will work and what features you'd prioritize for its MVP.
  • Describe your prioritized solutions in more detail: Kind of relevant to my feedback above. After suggesting what you're building, describe in more detail how you're going to build your product
  • Describe tradeoffs: Describe what sort of trade offs your suggested product will have. Are there any risks you have to keep in mind when building this product?
I hope it helps.
