Before getting into the Solution I would like to Explain the Product:

One Drive – Similar to Google drive where a user can create, collaborate and share documents etc and access them anywhere on the go

Ask and clarify few assumptions:

1.      When we say goal is increasing user eng that means we are not focused on user acquire and activation i.e. getting more users to sign up or discovering us or being able to login quickly. Assume – Only eng ie for folks already on Onedrive

Personas:

There are 4 personas that will be using our Products:

1.         Frequent Service User – These are folks age group 25 - 45

-      who are looking to store their personal data like certificates, aadhar, rentals etc on this as well as in transit documents like Bookings, hotel details etc.

-      Travelling both for personal and office work

 

2.         College Goer – Age grop around 18

- Keeping personal docs and college docs

- assignments, study mat etc that they need to read or print on the go

- Traveling to and fro and off campus

 

3.         Lecturers and Professors – Age grp is around 40-50

        - Keeping their data for presentation handy

        - Share with students and get feedback etc

        - access on demand

 

4.         Photographers – Age grp 30

- Take and collect lot of photos for their job/personal interest

- Later want to view, share and get feedback from colleagues, friends or self

 (A common trait we see – On the go users and access anywhere)

 

Needs:

I will focus on 1 persona since they are the largest group and can get us more users. However some of the pain points are similar so can be used for other personas too. 

1.      Common Needs – Customer Journey for a buyer usually involves these steps:

Create a content à Save it à Share it with folks for view and feedback à Later Search and discover some documents à Find it à View/access it

Each step has some needs and gaps:

-        Share > List of frequent of users, emails, favouties etc

- Search > Commonly searched documents I want to access quickly and find them

- Discover > Sometimes the search takes long to load because lot of data already there. Don’t like to spend time organizing data up the folders because it is boring. Many times I end up saving different versions of the same document and later when I try to retrieve I don’t remember which was the correct one

- Feedback > Many times If I have shared documents and got some comments on various docs, photos etc I miss out working on some because there are many and I don’t remember what I completed

Summary: Looking at our personas who use Onedrive for accessing documents and files on the go anywhere in order to drive engagement on this I would ensure that they can easily search, discover and share the same without any hurdles.
