Situation- I was assigned as a product manager for a streaming services app owning the subscription module. As a product manager, I had to make a decision as to what the optimum subscription price should be for the service

Task- To estimate proposed number of AVOD and SVOD subscribers thereby understand the projected revenue from subscriptions, ad monetization. This data will be used to compute the subscription price

Action- I could estimate the number of subscriber based on industry standards however it will difficult to measure the proposed ad monetization we do not have any other streaming app within the same company to run as a reference

Resolution-

I created a data set with critical path flows and then created data sets that could differentiate the various sub path taken in those data flows

These data sets were ingested into a logistic regression model to predict the engagement associated with the common flows for a given size of customer base.

This was then compared to engagement in other b2c apps in the company for sanity test purposes

The engagement data was used to estimate the proposed advertising revenue from the app
