Clarifying Functionality
- What is Valet parking Service: It allows hotel guests to hop off / hop on at the hotel porch and directly walk-in to the hotel without running around to find a parking spot and walking back and to.
- Primary Value: Time and convenience for the hotel guests

Clarifying Questions
- Could I assume that we are launching this service, where we sell the value prop to Hoteliers to convince them this will enhance guest experience? - Yes
- Could I assume that we would deliver this service through a mobile app? - Yes
- Could I focus just on one geo say the US? - Yes

Goals
Since it is a new service - The primary north star metric would be around user acquisition. Other goals would be on app rating, Lifetime Value, etc.

User Persona
1] Hotel Guest
Mostly upper-middle-class. Also, they tend to be tech-savvy
2] Valet driver
Mostly college students who are looking at supplemental income through TIPS and enjoy driving cars (new cars)
3] Hotelier
Business groups focused on delivering great customer experience during guest stay

I will focus primarily on the Hotel Guest persona for this discussion

User Journey
1] Decides to drive to a hotel
2] Wants to drop off the car at the porch
3] Receives acknowledgment receipt
4] When ready to leave, arrives at the porch
5] Provides the acknowledgment and waits for the car, makes payment
6] Tips the driver and leaves

Needs / Pain point
1] Identify if the hotel as valet parking service - Whether to drive up or drive to the parking lot
2] Comfort and assurance the car is safe - Not misused, driven around, where the car is parked, etc
3] Have specific conditions as to where the car should be parked - under a roof, car to be washed when in valet, etc.
4] When ready to leave, intimate the valet-  so that he does not need to wait
5] Make payment - look for payment methods
6] Tips - many times do not have cash, the right dollar bill, etc
7] Provide feedback on the valet driver - Incentivize them

Prioritizing the pain points
From the paint points, I am going to prioritize [1] [2] [4] [5] [6]

Solutions
a] The guest can type in the hotel name, it is will let them know if it has active valet parking service
b] Scans the valet driver receipt, automatically logs the valet request
c] Ability to see where the car is parked, the speed with which it was driven by the valet driver, basically a route map the car took after the guest left in the hands of the valet driver in the map using and mapping groups
d] Ready to leave as the primary CTA in the app
e] Direct debit option that can be set up for payment through Paypal, other Payment gateway providers
f] add tips amount / modify the amount of the tip

Prioritizing the Solutions
I am not considering revenue etc. since that is not our primary goal now
User impact       | Cost of building it
a]    H                       L
b]    M                       L
c]    M                       H
d]    H                       L
e]    M                      M
f]     M                       L (dependent on [e])

based on this, i will prioritize [a] [d] [b] first, followed by [e] [f] [c]

Metrics measurement
Number of app downloads, number of clients who have taken the first step in the user journey - of looking up the hotel or requesting / registring valet

Summarizing
Valet service mobile app, where the hotel guest can find if there is an active service, easily opt for the valet, when ready to leave, they don't need to wait. In the future, they will be able to make payments, tips, and even understand and identify where their car is parked, route map, etc.

To be transparent: I took me in total 30-35 mins. I did go back and update one step in the user journey and another in the pain point as I was completing my solutions - I did this to have more options during tradeoff. I would not have this opportunity during an actual interview.
