Tell me about a time you have had to drive change.

Situation- I used to work as a product lead for a legal information solutions providers. They used to work a close knit team but would not spend time on documentation. This led to confusions and challenges especially when communicating with members outside the immediate team

Tasks- Create a culture of creating and maintaining documentation amongst the team

Action- I started off with a process of creating documentation for simple tasks e.g logging a defect, writing a test etc and using this documentation in all meetings and commuications. This helped me to get acceptance amongst team members. Once they saw the benefits of maintaining documentation, I will able to expand it to other areas such as requirement details, traceability, change management etc.

Result- The documentation management process was a success. There was an improvement in productivity as measured in terms of speed of feature development by 30% over a period of 6 months. It also led to reduction in conflicts and improvement in team motivation.
