As a PM for Apple and Google Engineers, How would you design the contact tracing app to help the world transcend the COVID - 19 Pandemic.

That's an interesting question actually.

Here are few clarifying questions:

What do you mean by contact tracing?
Identifying all the close that have been in touch with the COVID diagnosed person.

What are the constraints and by when do we plan to launch it?
There are no constraints in building the product but there is an urgent need for the same, so we have to launch it as soon as possible.

Regarding COVID diagnosing test, can we also be able identify when they could have got affected? Of course we can ask the person about when they started getting to see symptoms but i would like to know if we can get that data from the test.
Hmm., I am not completely sure about it, but take an assumption that we can get it from the test.

My Approach:

I would start with stating the stakeholders that are involved in this process and their needs that we have to solve for and go about explaining the process of how the application gonna work.

Stakeholders involved:

User 1 - Users (Non - Public Health Autorities)

- Public Health Authorities

Needs of User 1:

- Altert me in case of any person I recently got contact in with is diagnosed by COVID.

- I feel hesistant to tell everyone that I got CoVID.

Needs of User 2:

- We should be informed about the contact list so that the necessary steps will be taken and identify the source.

- I Need the data of contact list of not all days but only the few days before diagnosed.

How our application gonna work:

So the application is gonna be working on the bluetooth mode, whenever the app is installed we generate a server key, whenever any other device with the app comes close, the server key gets listed on the either of the devices.

The reason why bluetooth because it will easy for data transaction between android and IOS.

Whenever the person gets diagnosed, using an API key the person status will be updated and the contact list will be shared to the Public Health authority based on the date.

So we will launch the API service to the User 2.

User 1 will just be notified without the specific name of who got diagnsed, protectiving the user privacy.

Building this may not take much time and can be launched asap.
