Goal
Re-launch Google glass into market successfully.
Assumptions:
  • Preference to launch product in consumer category over enterprise category.
  • Acceptance of Snap glasses are proof of audience readiness.
Target Audience:
  • 18-25
  • 26-40
  • Demographics: Urban, tech savvy users
Product categories:
Sleek industrial version - higher price range
Quirky version - lower price range
Hardware & build differences between both versions.

Product Design & Objectives:
New google glass should be aimed at users who are first movers in technology adoption. The objective will be to record photos/videos directly. Additionally an AR overlay will provide information & view AR artwork etc. AR features will be limited based on hardware capabilities.
AR capabilities should include existing google features like pointing camera at monuments and fetching information. Overlap maps etc.
AR art can also be viewed using glass.
Glass Feature list:
Regular spectacles with dual glasses,1 eye regular glass and second augmented.
Prominent camera placement and indication when camera is used for recording or taking photos
Subtle indication when camera is used in AR mode.
Button to start video recording/click photo. 1 option for short press & another for long press.
Button to launch AR mode. Long press to bring up additional information.
Glass Limitations:
Camera shall not have zoom ability to avoid privacy/snooping concerns
No AR features to work on another person unless other person is also wearing google glass(possible use in multiplayer games)
Paired App feature list:
Option to set photo/video quality to 720/1080/4K
Option to set photo/video as default mode
Option to set mode as slow/mo, panorama etc. These will effect the glass behavior one time. After exit, the camera buttons would revert to default behavior.

AR processing will be handled by the app instead of onboard camera, glass camera would be used. However lag has to be considered in this

Here are a few suggestions from my side.

Good things you did

  • You have structured the answer very well.
  • Hardware and software specifications are listed very well
  • The pricing structure is quite attractive to consumers.
  • Detailing is quite good for every part written in the answer.

Things you can improve on-

  • Snap Glass costs around $150 USD, whereas google glass cost around $1,500 USD that's 10X of that amount. Will consumers want to pay for it?
  • You have directly chosen the consumers without listing down their pain points, directly heading to designing the solution.
  • While keeping in mind, market competitor list is also required to redesign the google glass to check out some successful products in that space, for example, Hololens

At last, you have put great effort into this answer.
