You are a platform PM for AWS. There is a new third party platform that is becoming really popular in integrating with existing cloud platforms to improve the load balancing of app traffic. What metrics and goals would you consider in the build/buy decision?

You'll get access to over 3,000 product manager interview questions and answers

This is a very complicated question to answer, unless we know details of whether it's feasible to build this new "loadbalancer" technology, how far is amazon down the line in improving their current version of load balancer....

Loadbalancer has various metrics such as

Total no of new connection requests

Timed out requests

Total Payload processed

No. of concurrent requests

Drop in connection etc

So we would have to test various sizes of applications and payloads with either balancer and see the results to go back to the earlier question of build vs buy

Hope it makes sense
