This is kind of an oddball answer but looking at it from a pure Product Manager lens and suspending any bias, about the unique user groups, pain points associated and the novel way in which it solves them, i would say JUUL vaping stick is by far the most impressive and well designed product I have seen. Not withstanding all the harm associated with vaping / smoking, and the intense scrutiny and judgement bestowed upon them, smokers still are a target user group and they very well are consumers of a wide variety of products.
- About the product :
- JUUL is an alternative to smoking, it does so by
- making it more affordable
- reduces waste
- makes it safer
- makes it easier to quit
- Features
- The product itself is like a small USB stick, about the same length as a cigarette,
- Instead of lighting a cigarette, the user takes a puff of a JUUL pod, which is available in packs of 4. A single JUUL pod is the equivalent of 1.5 packs of cigarettes. The JUUL pod has a liquid with no TAR etc, but a concentration of Nicotine available in varying strengths.
- The vape isnt associated with any harmful chemicals and the risks assocated are unknown
- My criteria for evaluation
- Simple - The very basic device is very simple, easy to store, easy to charge, easy to refill. The device doesnt have a lot of maintenance associated with it. There is no foul odour and no waste.
- Compared to alternatives
- an erstwhile cigarette user has to carry an entourage of things, lighter, a bulky pack, will need an ash tray or find a place to extinguish the cigarette butt, a mouth freshner etc
- Other vaping devices have a different kind of entourage with bulky devices, oil, coil cleaning etc
- Compared to alternatives
- Does it do its job - It provides the right amount of nicotine, with an option to reduce the strength when needed, similar to how smoking cessation aids like Nicotine patches do. Its an alternative to whoesover wants to smoke or is planning to reduce and quit
- Innovative - The product has ensured that the "experience" of smoking with keeping the device dimensions as closer to a cigarette remains intact.

The goal of the website is to have questions answered for users and it accomplishes these goals by having them answered by industry experts where other users can upvote or downvote an answer based on how useful the answer is. Solving specific questions is not the only fun part, It is basically a site that enables learning different fields for me. One night I am reading about data structures and the other about black holes and outer space! And both the topics are equally interesting to me. I think there are very few sites in the market
that connect learning and fun in a way that quora does.
The only major drawback in my opinion is the layout of answers on the screen. Quora does not currently show the most upvoted answer on top for certain questions. This makes it difficult for the seeker to search for relevant information sometimes.
