1. what product this is?
2. engagement means? active user decreased? conversation rate going down?

3. what time this happened? holiday season? winter? spring? school opening?

4. who are my customers? kids? demographically and ethics, career?

5. supplier vs demand

- supply chain did not work (operation)

6. marketing? price change?

7. marketplace?

8. competitor?

break this down by internal, external, product, customer, competitor.

2. who are the users? anything particular with a specific user group or more broadly?

3. in which market? device?

4. engagement down means? not many users click some button? or something else?

then based on user journey to check in with interviewer on what could be the reason.

  • Comprehend the situation
    • What does it mean by engagement for the product?
    • What do we notice by geography, customer, trend?
    • Any major changes/campaigns around the time effect started?
    • How is the performance of competitor
  • Understand the user journey of product and break down engagement, look for bounce rate at different stages.
  • Drill through to a further level of metrics to pinpoint the problem.
