In order to better understand the mixed feedback, I would -
- First categorise the feedback into bugs, confusions, preference, performance and assess the criticality of each of these issues
- Second, I would run quantitative analysis to measure metrics like profile view to follow, grid engagement, bounce rate, etc.
- Third I would do some qualitative analysis in the form of usability analysis, sentiment analysis on app store reviews, etc.
- Based on the overall analysis, I will acknowledge the issue with root cause and clearly communicate to our users
- Based on the nature of the issues, I would take a call on whether to rollback, do a quick fix or educate our users to clarify their confusion

Mission: Meta's mission is to build the future of human connection and the technology that makes it possible
Clarity:
- Is this the profile page on instagram where users can visit other people's profile and see the content they shared such as reels, and images
- Is the new update of profile grid the one that changed photos from square to vertical rectangles
Product goals:
The profile grid is a place for the instagram creators to express their creativity and share their content. This helps their followers and others to track all the creator's content and interact with that. It helps Meta's mission of building human connection.
Hypothesis:
Have we seen any drop in creator content being uploaded? (Assuming no)
Have we seen any drop in content seen on the profile page by the users? (Assuming yes)
I want to look for if the drop happened across any platform (Hypothesis: Some OS or Screen size makes it look awkward)
I want to look if there is any difference between viewing patterns for new vs old images. (Hypothesis: Older images uploaded by creators are not optimized for this pattern)
If the content drop is uniform, I want to look at the UX.
Are people not opening images after landing on profile page (hypothesis: The previews are not proper)
Depending on the hypothesis, we will make a fix and run the A/B experiment to see if the # of image views went up.
