Birthday notifications on facebook are sent to friends on the day of any particular person's birthday so that they can wish their friend without forgetting the date

In order to measure the success of this feature, we would need to look into -

  • Core feature related metrics
    • % users making birthday details public in their profile
    • % contacts per user who are receiving birthday notifications
    • CTR of the notification
    • % users wishing birthday to their contacts afte seeing the notification
    • % birthday messages received per user
    • % users who replied to atleast one birthday message
  • Engagement metrics
    • DAU users on account of receiving the notification
    • Time spent per session after clicking on the notification
  • Quality and sentiment metrics
    • % accuracy of the sent reminders
    • User satisfaction score
