Clarifying question?

Is it for schools, organizations, coaching centers or any other particular segment?

Assume it would be schools of Covid era

What purpose are we trying to solve? Communication, collaboration, online classes etc.?

Assume online classes

Goal

We are building a Digital tool for K12 students to collaborate and communicate in world where there is no in person interaction but majorly virtual interactions.

Personas

Students

Teachers

Parents

educators

Guests users

Pain points

1.       Since kids can’t go school, how will classes happen? There is google meet but raising hands, asking questions may lead to fish market as multiple persons can speak. QnA is not good in google meet.

2.       Content delivered from teacher is mostly slides. So content organization is one of key area to be looked into.

3.       Taking online notes from teachers by students..

4.       Marking attendance is pain for teachers..

5.       Assessment and online proctoring by teachers

6.       Report card to parents

7.       Tracking announcements and updates from the school

8.       Synchronize with time, syllabus

Solutions

1.       Since this is K-12 educational tool which solves the purpose of education for students along with teachers to provide content, It would be great to make role matrix foremost.

2.       Human got tendency to learn from visuals and flow chart diagrams, So making use of AI to convert thick text books to flowchart interactive diagrams or probably the some Games. May be some smart content doing…

3.       Assessments and Report card are generally most wanted things by parents. I would like to build a growing plant to convey the message of scores and inform parents about the areas of improvement through visuals.

4.       Teachers play a very crucial role by content making, so there should be proper dashboards and content organization kit. They should also empowered by tracker where they can check the confidence level of each kid

5.       There should be feature of classroom where teachers can control kids.

6.       Online Blackboard, if possible.

7.       There should be provision or space where kids can write notes, bookmark the content

8.       There should be online proctoring services as delighter/optional.

Recommendations

For now I will pick the following as

1.       Classroom:  This would be bread and butter of product. It will be place which would pain points of all personas. We can build a product where teachers can control the camera or students can raise queries in smart way. Queries could be pinned, voted..

2.       Report card in visual way is one thing to enable better versioning of scores. Instead of numerals, we will provide a seed to tree kind of visual where scored of kids would add leaves, flowers to report card. In case of less score, we also show green tree without flower making parents’ confidents and students better. It would a way of providing way out of traditional mindset of marks.

3.       Out of 2,6 and 7, I would pick 2 as smart content using AI is great for build content for students. We can engage students by building treasure hunt kind of game where they read chapter and find clues. Content can be displayed with interactive visuals and blended into games and coins.
