Improve an established ride-sharing product for senior citizens.

Assumption:

Considering India as the market

Considering Ola as the ride-sharing product

Considering senior citizens as people with the age 60 or more 60 years

There are 2 major user segments driver and the rider. The senior citizen using Ola for booking a ride is very low because-

1. They prefer traditional/local rides (May or may not be affiliated with Ola)
2. Generally the younger family members books a ride for the older citizen thus both of them are the user but the person booking the ride is not the senior citizen
3. Thus, we will be looking at the driver's side. 

Let's have a look if the market size is big enough

Population of India: 1.4Bn

Smartphone penetration: 80%

Internet penetration: 80%

Ola app penetration: 35% = ~313Mn

Drivers: Riders= 20:80 ~62Mn

Agewise distribution:

20-30 : 10%

30-40 : 30%

40-50 : 25%

50-60 : 25%

60+ : 10% = 6.2Mn ~ 620K

Even if we further segregate the no. of trips by age per day, 60+ aged drivers would have less no. of trips per day.

Thus, I feel even if we try to implement a feature for senior citizens who are driving partners of Ola. It would still take more engineering effort and there will not be a big impact.
