TikTok is a popular short-form video-sharing social media platform, known for its funny lip-syncing videos.
User Segmentation:
- Content Creator
- Content consumer
- Advertiser
Let's focus on Content Creators because the whole ecosystem of Tiktok depends on the content created. If there is more content the content consumer has ample videos to watch and this makes them stay on the App thus ADvertizers can show them the ADs and that's how Tiktok will gain money!
We can segregate content creators on various basis like-
- based on geography
- based on content form (Short vs Long)
- based on followers
- based on time spent, etc
But, I feel we will segment content creators as per their frequency of posting content
- High (more than 14 times a week)
- Medium (7 to 14 times a week)
- Low (1 post per month)
Let us focus on Low frequency, as they post content this shows that they are familiar with the platform and know how to post content but they are less motivated
Let us understand why people don't post that often-
- My activities or videos won't be appreciated by others
- I would look dumb while posting this
- I don't have any specific skills to showcase
Solution:
- Leader board for less frequent creators [Paintpoint 1]
- Share your views prompt (where users will be asked to share their views on high-engagement topics) [Paintpoint 1]
- Remove/disappear hate comments option for creators [Painpoint 2]
- Mimic, prompts users to mimic others and record [Painpoint 3]
- In the burning question prompt, users will be asked an MCQ and he has to write or answer the MCQ which will be posted on their story/post and other users can view responses and like the responses [Painpoint 3]
If we had data we would prioritize the above pain points from (A feedback form or group interview) and prioritize it as per impact of pain point vs ease of implementing the solution
However, we can go forward with solution no. 5 because the text is low-resistance content as a content creator, and development time for the same is also very low.
