DAU à In general DAU are the people who are active on platform in past 30 days and come to platform and engage with it à this is correct or there is some other information à let’s assume this is fine

Active users à User logging in and engaging in past 30 days such as surfing, tweet, retweet, comment etc

DAU = % Daily active users / Total active users

1. Total active users

a. Increase in the total active users

i. Any recent changes/new interesting features launched

ii. Any hyped influencer joined the platform

iii. Global or local news such as elections, bombing, etc

v. Platform implication such as web or app

2. Daily active users

a. Decrease in daily active users

i. Launch of similar product – Churn

ii. Logic change to calculate the DAU

iii. Any calamity or uproar

iv. Increased user effort in logging to platform

vi. Restriction of users on the basis of paid and free user base

DAU( Daily active users) refers to the number of people who is active or used the app for at least one session on a particular day.

i would like to confirm that we haven't change the definition and calculation of DAU.

let's say there is no change.

Is it happening in any particular geography?Let’s say India.Is it dropping across all the user’s category?Let’s say yes.The drop was sudden or gradual?Let’s say gradual.Was there any seasonality effect?Let’s say no.What about other metrics such as # of tweets sent per day is also decreasing?Let’s say yes.What about WAU and MAU?Is there any impact on these metrics?Let’s say there is a drop of 4-5% here.Was there any internal reason such as bug issue or server issue basically if this was the reason then the drop would have been sudden?Let’s say no. Was there any external reason such as bad PR etc?Let’s say no. What about our competitors? Has any new competitor came in the market?Let’s say yes.A new competitor Threads launched by Meta came in the market.What about it’s market size?It’s increasing very fast.We have found the reason that a new service Threads in the same market space came and thus causing overall drop in MAU, DAU, WAU. I would also like to see other metrics such as- # of uninstalls, # of drop in rating, Reviews to confirm the reason.
