Interestingg..
Common ground: a video sharing platform with primary revenue from ads, subscriptions and rentals.
Mission: to give everyone a voice and show them the world.
takes time:2 min
ok, I cannot think of a framework but I would stick with user journeys to identify revenue areas and also sticking to the mission.
types of users:
- Viewers: who consumes content on the platform
- Creators: who create content for youtube
- Sellers: who advertises on youtube
lets go one by one:
Viewers: they are on youtube to watch something or get entertained.
- Youtube buy: a small space below the video to buy things shown in the video. it seems ok but the creator might not be comfortable as this would effect their affiliations.
- Youtube Visit: showing users VR content of places at a marginal price.
- Youtube Super: a super video platform where user can find all and every video form other platforms. when the user pays for videos, we get a cut and the owner gets revenue.
- Youtube Spaces: a common problem with youtube is distraction. we might open it to watch a java lesson but after 2 hrs we would be watching someone cooking food in alaska. thats addicting and not productive. so a space would be a limited/minimalistic youtube where you can only select and bring what you want to watch. then you are clear again.
Now the creators:
- Youtube creator tools: the tools helping creators to edit, modify content.
- Youtube Studios: spaces to create content
- Youtube Rentals: renting out the equipment with in the spaces.
- Youtube Marketplace: place for freelancers, students, teachers to sell their service. the creator decides whether the video is free or not and youtube gets a cut.
- Youtube own content: own authentic content. buying content from users and hosting on platform.
Sellers:
- New ways to advertise
- Youtube Stores: creators selling stuff.
Summary:
all these look decent but lets see the top feature for each user and prioritize them.
for users starting with youtube spaces, creators premium content, sellers stores would be my top choices. as they bring a lot of users and let the revenue stay with in youtube.
