Context: I will stick to mobile/web application instead of any physical solutions. I am not restricting it to indian/american weddings (keeping it geography independent) to cover majority of use cases. I would still restrict it to christian Indians and keep the market to US to begin with and expand the score further. I will not consider any parent brand restrictions in terms of features/positioning etc.
Users:
- Bride & groom
- any age group, tech savvy, spend about 2-3 months planning the whole wedding, stressed about wedding
- Close family, friends & bridesmaids etc. helping them with marriage
- any age group, take out time from their day to day activities to help the bride and groom, are time deficit, want to find easy ways to get a job done
- People who want to gift the couple
- want to find right choice to gift, any age group, tech savvy
User needs using 5W method:
1. Bride/groom
- before wedding (when)
Gift choices:
- want to make sure the gifts are useful
- want to be able to pool money and buy some items post marriage
Pain point: have to manually call/inform on social media channels
Around wedding:
- want to communicate venue & dates of wedding
Pain point: Receiving unnecessary gifts, not being able to communicate openly what they want
Around gifts listing:
- must be able to know optimal number of products/experinces to list
- want to be able to add /delete based on already done products
- want to be able to add any personal note on each product/experience to give personal feel
- want to be able to provide wide range of gifting options for different kind of people and their choices
Pain point: forgetting to send note and forgetting who gifted which item
After receiving gifts:
- want to express gratitude after receiving gifts
- want to send a ‘Thank you’ note after receiving with how they are using the gift
- also would want to share any pictures from wedding

Recommendation:
- would be to build a simple site by collaborating with vendors and accomodate for multiple users
